For those who are interested in pricing I purchase this TV directly from Amazon for 1599 with free delivery The pricing had fluctuated wildly from 1599 to 2199 for about a month prior to my purchase in late March 2010
I don t intend on covering the technical specs because they ve been covered by other reviewers For me the biggest worry with this TV has been the notorious lip sync issue I am glad to say that I didn t experience any problems connecting either the Blu ray player or the WD TV Live media player using HDMI cables on hand I do want to make clear that I don t subscribe to cable or have a complicated audio setup
Here are some general observations
PROS No visible motion blur This TV streams sports and fast action sequences beautifully Four HDMI connections Interface that auto detects activated device like a Blu ray player and prompts you to switch to that input device Better contrast ratio than my previous LG LCD Very detailed picture adjustments The picture adjustment menu seems to go on and on Variable energy savings mode
CONS As others have commented the sound is probably the biggest drawback but one can always supplement with a surround system or even just a soundbar using an optical cable or HDMI connection No accompanying menual Only an enclosed CD with pdf documentations
Overall I am very happy with the purchase Hope this review helps those people who are sitting on the fence because of the lip sync issue

LG 37LH20 37 Inch 720p LCD HDTV Gloss Black >> So happy with this tv This is my first experience with HDtv and I can t be happier I researched all kinds of tv s in my price range I finally settled on the LG because of all the positive reviews and that it was available at an affordable price at an outlet other than Amazon they offered a payment plan as well which was exactly what I needed
The tv itself is sleek was easy to set up and once I had it connected to my cable box we were instantly ready to go Make sure you buy an HDMI cable though even things broadcast in standard definition are so much prettier than on a regular analog set
I know that there are more expensive higher resolution sets out there but if you re looking for something for a smaller room or are truly on a budget you will get everything you need from the LG I promise >> Limited use but very impressed First some LG issues I added a year on to the warranty as they offered an additional year for 25 Very good deal for product value of over 500 hopefully never needed LG will petition you to review their product and then inform you 1 it has been discontinued and 2 they want you to sign into their website But enough of that to the set itself I do wish the manual was easier to use via CD a mini printed sheet 4 5 sheets of How to mark your favorite stations etc would of been more helpful After some cable booster issues I think the set itself is glorious great picture even cable/non HD channels look great And Off the air HD channels of Spanish or Cable delievered HD channels are very impressive Presently I have three new sets a LG 22LH20 incher in the bedroom a new 26 Panasonic Viera set and this LG 37 incher The Panasonic is very clear sharp and impresisve also and the LG 22 incher no doubt suffers in comparison due it s samller size Panasonic is one great brand but I got this one from Amazon at a greatly reduced price at their regualr discount they are still very expensive Well I think the large 37 inch LG beats the Panasonic again size carries a lot of weight here but the pitcure is clear bright and delievers the wow of HDTV Now I am a cable subscriber and only get those HD channels they have to give you because their local stations but as I said the Off the Air spanish stations San Diego area in HD are great and beautiful I do like the Q menu where one button allow you to scroll through all your choices of audio picture format etc ps if your adding your base to the set with screws I recommend sliding a little tape to the screwdriver s end screw being mini held by the tape it will allow you to deliever that screw to rheir holes Tape comes back with screwdriver When I bought my LG 37 incher it was from Adorama via Amazon and I had to wait a while but the set s performance is very nice If Samsung/Panasonic is too expensive for you go the LG route and not the Vizio way The are Quality sets

Technician arrived approximately 24 hours from reporting my problem He applied a program patch to the TV using the USB port The fix was applied in about five minutes Perfect picture/sound I would rate the TV five stars now >> Too glossy I love the picture and build quality but have to agree with the other review that the glass front makes this TV too reflective everything is there The product shots really don t give you a good impression of this So this TV would work best in a media room where you can really cut out unwanted light My plan is to fix with really light frosting film if I can find something appropriate will post a follow up

I had lip sync issues initially with my Charter Motorola cable box but setting it to 1080i instead of 720p has fixed this
Only audio output is optical HDMI audio is switched to the optical output so greatly reduces the number of cables you need
LG need to post the manual on their web site >> One of the best for the price This TV has a super clear picture with blueray and good with reg dvd I was watching Terminator Salvation and the picture was the best ive seen ever better with trumotion on low some reason with Terminator on blueray the tru motion was really good other movies it might look unnatural 240hz for under a 1000 great deal At first the trumotion was kinda weird looking once you get use to it it looks great especially with gaming with xbox360 the graphics look more smooth like gaming with a hi end gamer computer The blacks are excellent and it does make a difference cause dark blacks makes your picture look more clear and crisp picture is bright so much better than my samsung DLP and sony xbr 6 new tech way better If anyone has ever had the problem with older lcds that when you play games the picture is very dim and you have to turn up the brightness the LGsl80 has no problem hooked it up and good to go People always complain about the sound being horrible but to me the sound is great for speaker that are small and not even half way the volume is loud enough full volume would be too loud Of corse your not going to get surround sound with bass About the lip sync problem none maybe you need HDMI 1 3 not sure though but i have no problems at all Also the TV is super thin

LG 42PQ30 42 Inch 720p Plasma HDTV >> All you need is love and a 720P Plasma What can I say This TV is amazing As the title of this review says all you need in this world is a 720P Plasma TV and some loved ones to accompany you Just like most tech savvy net savvy guys I did lot of research about Plasma Vs LCD Vs LED While you can google all the good bad and ugly about Plasma Vs LCD one major factor for me was Color rather colors I want to see colors as they should Black should be Black Red should be Red etc Plasmas are way ahead in color clarity and smooth motion ve Plasma screen has high glare If you are watching it in a brightly lit room then pump up the brightness and contrast Then comes 1080P Vs 720P I would go for 1080P if I am not paying more bucks over a 720P I read a lot on net about 1080/720 stuff and came to a conclusion that when you watch the TV from a decent distance at least 6ft you cannot tell the difference Moreover all the HD broadcast over cable is just 720P The bottom line is that if you are saving some bucks go for 720P Tell your friends that its a 1080P and they will praise it Tell them its a 720P they will say that they can see some difference compared to their 1080P
Well talking about this particular model This is my first LG product and it did not disappoint Excellent appearance superb colors amazing clarity It has all the possible inputs and outputs you will ever need Beside the obvious 3HDMI 2 AV s video component etc the most imp one for me is the optical out with surround sound Optical out was not mentioned in their specs This connection saved me from buying a receiver system Connect all video inputs to your TV send sound output of TV to your home theater The sound from TV is good for normal viewing I turn on the sound system for movies and music There is a newer sleeker model from LG to replace this model go for it LG is my new fav >> Very Good Buy Nice Color Got it last x mas so far so good Very nice TV Overall 5 stars The only bad thing I found is the USB port on it quite useless Doesn t recognize my cannon sd780is which I think is popular camera Also tried a 2gb thumb drive with no luck Another thing is the only output on it is a optical for audio that s it no video or coax audio Other then that thumbs up LG is a good brand so I Knew it was going to be a good buy Go for it >> LG Plasma review This TV has a great picture When watching in HD the picture is simply stunning This is only a 720P set yet I can she minute details on the faces of people Excellent in a darker room The one thing that this TV lacks is some kind of glare reducer If one can put the set in a place avoiding sunlight it would be absolutely perfect

LG 47LH30 47 Inch 1080p LCD HDTV Gloss Black >> My first HDTV This is the first HDTV I have ever purchased It certainly won t be the last I thought I would have to buy a new stereo system to go with it but the speakers are incredible The picture is awesome as well Shipped quickly and was easy to set up The only complaint I have is that it doesn t agree with some of the settings on my cable box Think it s more the fault of the cable box and I still get all of my HD channels on the settings that do work >> Bait and switch When they first made this TV and when every profession review of this TV was made it was an awesome TV Then without telling anyone LG switched panels from their own LG made high quality IPS panel to a AUO non IPS middle of the road panel It was still a good TV but not close to the earlier ones Then right before I bought this TV LG switched out the panels again to a very low quality bottom of the barrel Chi Mei panel Bad colors bad blacks smearing ghosting and bad response time The original panel had bad blacks as well but excellent colors and one of the lowest response times for a TV with no smearing or ghosting
Don t buy this TV expecting a high quality TV like the profession reviews say Only buy this expecting cheap low quality TV The only way to tell what panel you have is to shine a flashlight through the back grills of the TV and look for a sticker that says LG AUO or Chi Mei
I can t comment on the sound quality as I ve only had it hooked up to my PC so far and I used my PC speakers >> For the price it can t be beat period I consider myself an information hound I am the type of person who researches model numbers and such before buying just about anything The first thing that caught my eye about this LG LCD was admittedly the price 750 for a 47inch lcd are you for real Then I was concerned that this was an older model with less features or substandard specs for this price However after reading several reviews and debating the pros and cons we decided to go ahead with the purchase and I will say am very pleasantly surprised with the product
First off I will say that Amazons shipping service was very quick and timely The shipper gave us a contact number and communicated very well during shipping The tv was delivered on time as promised and in superb condition with nare a scratch on the box
The tv itself is a snap to set up slide it out the box put the base stand in it tighten 4 screws and behold you are done 3 hdmi inputs were perfect for my cable dvd and Wii and other connections are available as well One thing i will say if you are hooking this tv up to a home theater system PLEASE make sure to purchase an optical audio cable there are NO AUDIO OUT jacks on this tv I bought one also here on Amazon for about 5 bucks and it sounds AMAZING with our Kenwood HT system Otherwise you d have to connect your audio through your dvd player and wont be able to watch regular tv in surround sound
The television itself has many many options with regard to adjusting the picture and I suggest taking the time to do so I spent maybe 30 minutes doing this and the time was well worth it My dvds look flawless my HD cable channels are clean and my nintendo wii is a heck of a draw with that big beautiful 47 inch screen
The set does seem to attract dust rather easily and does come with a cloth for cleaning The stand seems a bit wobbly and my wife was concerned with our little ones running back and forth in front the tv but so far everything seems to be just fine
To sum it up this is a great great deal for the price No you are not getting top of the line electronics or materials but LG has built a reputation on making good looking and well sounding televisions and this one is no exception Well worth the money and a beautiful product that me and my family are enjoying to the absolute fullest

Was considering the Sony 46ex500 and was just about to purchase it when I seen this LG on sale for 999 00 and this set had 200 000 1 contrast and 240 hz and the sony had 150000 1 and 120 hz So for the same price and picture looking very sharp no brainer
Picture the HD picture is amazing almost like 3d but in 2d 3d is over rated just good for certain movies no need to pay for that extra affect this set will give u great unbeleiveable picture Digital Picture is good plus LG gives u the ability to expand the picture and still stay clear SD Picture is fair but all the flat panel sets R the same
Sound the sound with clear 2 voice sys is good not great but for tv sound sys pretty good
Do not waste your time on plasma or LED sets which r over price this set is just as good
Would buy again save your moeny and buy this top of the line LG SET

Should have done this a long time ago >> Love the TV Just a few things that get to me I have been holding off on a flat screen for awhile I already had a HD Tv but it was only 30 I wanted a deal and decent specs So I searched and searched and this was it for me I purchased and received this beauty faster then the estimated time I watched Blu ray s on my PS3 with my wife and smiled like a little kid on christmas morning Shortly thereafter I noticed quirks My wife says I m anal but notices these discrepencies as well Just not as much as myself 240 HZ makes a visual effect as if there is no auto balance to a camera man s hold when recording So it feels as if you are recording the movie live and every little bounce and pause is noticed I don t like it and my wife get s a bit queezy so we turn 240 off or low more so then not One more thing again due to me being anal I ve noticed 3 grey lines going horizontally on the screen Only on light panning backgrounds Besides these complaints I d give a 4 5/5 I really do love this TV just could do without the quirks

LG 50PS80 50 Inch 1080p Plasma Broadband HDTV >> Wonderful TV This TV is everything it says it is It s a perfect television for the tech guys like me who want to share their PC media on their home entertainment system Great buy >> Great Plasma buy I was looking for a top of the line plasma tv formay leaving roomand after looking for more that 3 monthsI had two finalists the panasonic Viera p15 and this LG Althought they were virtualy the same in everything But there was one final deal breaker the design This one flat front glass screen did it for me It makes this TV look sleek and sophisticate I am very please the way it looks mounted over my fire place A great buy >> Great TV for the Price I purchased this TV during the pre christmas sales in early November 2009 for a great price 899 I was originally going to the store to purchase the Panasonic P50G15 However the Sales Associate convinced me to buy the LG it was the best TV for the price the P50G15 was 1199 which included a blu ray player vs 899 for the 50PS80 With Pioneer out of the market the Panasonic Plasma s are considered the best picture quality available However comparing the LG P580 vs the Panasonic G15 is comparing LG s top of the line model against a high end Panny but not their best V10 series The following features gave the LG a slight edge for the price
1 The LG PS80 utilizes a single pane of glass The Panasonic G15 is two panes the Panasonic V10 is also one pane This reduces the glare in a bright room My set is in a room with a huge Bay window The glare is not that noticible On particulary bright days I close the blinds I also have a big ceiling light that hangs down directly behind the viewer If the light is on the fullest setting you know its there but if you dim the light you don t notice it Another trick I learned is to swivel the tv so you aren t perpindicular to the screen THe light behind the screen no longer is reflected back at the viewer With the plasma the viewing angle is superb so with a slight viewing angle the picture is perfect and there is no glare
2 The tv stand swivels If you are buying a wall mount or a entertainment center that has a mount that swivels this doesn t matter However if you are just putting the tv with its default stand on an entertainment center the swivels is very useful Especially for when I use a nintendo wii I can turn the screen so its facing away from my coffee table and I can play active games on the wii As mentioned above sometimes I swivel the set slightly to eliminate any glare from behind the viewer
3 The LG PS80 supports 24P Cinematic Playback I m not 100 educated in this feature theoretically this means that vidoes filmed at 24 frames per second will play smoother on the LG PS80 than sets that don t have 24P capable I don t believe the P50G15 does though the V10 definitely does The CNET reviews say that the LG software isn t as consistent as the top of the line competitors like the Panasonic V10 but thusfar every movie i have watched looks amazing and is smooth without any noticible artifacts / ghosting / etc
4 The I/O ports are slightly different there is 1 more HDMI on the LG There is not an S Video on the LG Though with all of the HDMI and Component Video options I have no need to ever use S Video I would rather have the 4 HDMI s The I/0 on the side of the set is also very useful
The reviews from sites like CNET knock the picture quality of the PS80 because of the black levels My father owns the last generation of the Pioneer Elite Kuro s which are known to have some of the best black levels ever and I can honestly say that once you calibrate the picture settings on the LG the Picture Quality PQ is stunning and comparible to the older Pioneer The black levels of the LG are significantly better than most if not all of the LCD s on the market my friend brought one of the top of the line Samsung LCD s during Christmas 2008 2000 vs 899 and this LG blows the picture quality away
The bells and whistles that the NetCast provides are pretty cool though not necessary The NetFlix feature is great and very convenient G15 has ethernet but not Netflix One push of the button on the remote brings you to the NetFlix menu you scroll through your movies and make a selection Works great with pretty good picture quality supposedly its 720P If you have an XBOX 360 like I do or other NetFlix enabled devices this isn t necessary in the TV however it is convenient to have it in one push of the button saves time The Yahoo widgets I find fairly useless I do use the Weather one frequently which is pretty cool Its useful to know the temperature forcast and whether or not you will have a storm though its frustrating that you can t tell how much snow you will get i e 4 to 6 of snow The sports scores are pretty useful as well but easier to do on a laptop and I notice that some of them don t update too often
One knock on the LG PS80 is that I have notice some level of temporary image retention i e burn in especially during the first few weeks of using it break in period Menu systems especially ones like selecting a movie with the VUDU widget would leave a light images on the screen of the menu when the screen displays something dark or goes black However with a little bit of time they always go away The tv also has ISM methods that you can use to wash the screen completely removing the retention in a few seconds Now that my tv is broken in it rarely happens anymore I have used my XBOX 360 and Nintendo Wii a lot and have had no issues
If you have a 50 tv you most likely have a receiver with surround sound so speaker quality probably won t matter too much to most people However it should be pointed out that the sound quality of the LG 50PS80 speakers is suprisingly good Great depth of sound good amplification and the sound is sharp and clear It also has an optional ClearVoice mode which amplifies the sound of human voices so you can pick them out better from the sound effects / background noise I played with this setting thought it was neat but leave it turned off If you are hard of hearing it may be beneficial
This review is getting long winded so I won t write much more The big thing I would recommend is calibrating the picture settings this is true of any TV you buy The default settings Vivid Mode look like crap at home The tv has a simple calibration mode built into the menu system this will get you started Take time to learn how to set the ISF Expert modes I bought a calibration disk which worked pretty well Another option is to try the settings recommended by CNET I started with those and the difference in picture quality is night day Every tv will vary slightly so their recommended settings won t give you a perfect calibration but its a great starting point I ve provided the CNET recommendations below

LG 55LH85 55 Inch 1080p 120Hz Wireless HDMI LCD HDTV Black >> Good LCD performance lasted 3 weeks I m not the type of person that habitually complains or nit picks or sends food back at restaurants just to let you know before I review I bought this tv from Amazon paid extra for it to arrive in 2 days via express mail it took 7 or so but I was fine with that Out of the box this TV was impressive in both size and picture quality I remained pleased and impressed for 3 weeks then out of the blue it stopped working LG provided me with the phone number to a certified repair center I called and they informed me that they don t perform in house repairs This TV is 75 lbs and is difficult to move They sent out 1 man to pick it up in a ran down van On the pickup ticket he wrote SCRATCHED I know for a fact that this TV was flawless when it left It s been over a week and they still have my TV I don t know what condition it will be returned in and I m highly concerned I feel that the TV should I ve been replaced with a brand new one being that I paid 2000 for it and it malfunctioned after only 3 weeks >> LG 55LH85 LCD HDTV During the advent of big screen TVs I said I would replace my 27 Zenith color TV purchased when I got married in 1969 when it quit on me Well it didn t and I couldn t wait so I bought a Sony KP5020 coffee table type front projection TV in 1984 For the past few years I have watched TV technology change to plasma and LCD s Like the Zenith I gave up waiting for the Sony to quit also and after months of research deciding between plasma and LCD I chose LCD and further upon further elimination of brands a LG I am into gadgets and that s my motorcycle group riding name I wanted a bigger screen than 50 so after deciding on the brand there were 3 LG s I looked at the LG 55LH40 LG 55LHX and LG 55LH85 The so called LED TV s like the LHX are only backlit LEDs not true LED like OLED and even though not true LED they are expensive Sony sells a true OLED TV for 2500 for an 11 screen and they are sold out but out of my range 120 Hz vs 240 Hz The eye can t tell that much difference for the price and LG 120 Hz has True Motion to compensate for judder The same goes for 720p vs 1080p The eye can t tell much and I understand that HDTV transmissions are in 720p anyway Blueray is in 1080p What finally attracted me was the LG 85 s separate wireless media box with almost an infinite array of inputs and outputs all transmitted wireless If you have your sound system in one area and TV in another area but in the same room you ve got it made with this system I found out that Black Friday weekend prices on the TVs were a little lower than Cyber Monday I waited until Cyber Monday and lost out on good prices What a hype The TVs went up 100 for the 85 to 300 for the 40 Even Newegg went up As I am typing this Newegg went back down to Black Friday week prices after 2 weeks of being 100 higher It helps to have Price Protection service like I have for 60 days after purchase but it s not through Newegg The prices on the net have been ranging from 1699 to 2699 What a difference in prices I think my TV was shipped from Ca since it took 8 days to get here by AIT There was a storm front in the area and I called their local contractor J P trucking and asked them to postpone delivery a day later They said they would deliver whenever I wanted and arrived 12/10/09 It arrived strapped to a wooden pallet I cut the straps and lifted the box over the TV that was encased in styrofoam The only damage I found was 2 symmetrical hairline cracks on the back of the base that cannot be seen from the front They are so equal it almost looks like it was made that way It was probably from the TV shifting on the foam It is a handsome unit with transparent frame The TV measures 54 wide 10 wider than the Sony so I had to improvise my space I wheeled it in carefully with a dolly and lifted it up onto my surround sound bass box that is 13 H X 13 W X 15 Deep With stand it weighs 86 lbs Having the media box separate saves weight Inside the packing box is the TV media box 2 power cords owners manual extensive manual on a CD remote with batteries microfiber cloth and protection cover to cover the hole used by the TV stand if you want to hang it up on the wall You have to purchase a separate HDMI cables and VGA cable if you want to hook it up to your computer I had my previous TV hooked up with cable converter box Go Video DVD VCR recorder Go Video VHS to VHS recorder Sony DVD player changer and Sylvania DVD recorder that runs through a multiple switching box master control center so I am probably getting some signal loss I hooked up the TV cable into the LG media box My cable company also supplies not only TV but broadband and telephone another possible signal loss It takes a few seconds for the media box s transmitter located in the front of the box to search for the receiver located under the LG logo on the TV Reception is similar to the bars on your cell phone and I am receiving 5 bars By the time I finished hooking it up the Jay Leno show was on and I thought either my vision was impaired or something s wrong with the TV because Jay s head/face was out of focus Was I upset and almost blamed it on the TV until I switched to a pre recorded DVR program and then played a DVD and also switched to HD programming I had no focus problems Then I remembered the bad hype that the Sony projection TVs got many years ago The increased size accented the poor transmissions put out by the TV stations not the fault of the TV I have not used the HDMI hookup yet or surround sound option I have a separate surround sound running out of my DVD VCR recorder The LG media box has 3 HDMI connections in the back 1 in the front and there is 1 on the TV for a total of 5 HDMI ports There are also component DVI and composite hookups as well as optical digital audio out The LG has HDTV ISR AV Invisible Speakers Trumotion Smart Energy Savings Dolby SRS Clear Voice II HDMI Full HD 1080p Wireless Intelligent Sensor and DIVX An array of red leds on the bottom right indicates standby and when turned on cycles like a Battlestar Galatica Cyclon and turns white You have the option of turning this off Controls on the TV are on the right side The remote has a 5 sec backlight to see in the dark The front of the master box has USB and HDMI in ports The TV also comes with automatic or manual time clock and sleep timer Through the remote you can access a simple manual and quick menu to make picture adjustments Pressing the info on the remote will give you program info if broadcast by your cable/satellite company It also has key lock parental controls and channel locks You can view JPG files play MP3 and movie files as well as Simplink equipped There is a Picture Wizard where you can tune your TV to examples as you desire and adjusts black level white color tint horizontal and vertical sharpness and backlight You also have manual advanced and 2 expert settings that you can set according to what you are watching The expert settings also go farther than my technical ability at this time and I haven t messed with all the color adjustment in the expert setting There are directions for optimal placement of the media box and I have mine just in front and under the right side of the TV I found out after moving the box around that the front controls are touch sensitive for all the ports on the box I have not used the HDMI or blue ray but according to the other reviews the picture is outstanding That is probably the best way to appreciate the money you spent on this TV since TV broadcasting is still not the best of worlds I have been getting tileing all year and have had the cable co out numerous times and they are coming again Sunday to try to fix the tileing I m ready to go back to Dish or Direct TV The only Cons I can find is that when you use the Intelligent Sensor with one light on in the room the screen is too dim for my liking but it saves 75 energy by dropping the brightness and backlight When I turn the overhead light on it adjusts accordingly and gets brighter The other con is the email for registration is not what is printed on the card It is Secure was left off the card or had been changed to a new email Contacting LG customer service by phone was answered quickly I inquired why I am not receiving picture info It seems it is the cable s problem not the TV I hooked another TV with picture info features up to cable and didn t get any info either At least I received immediate info from LG customer service who also confirmed that my email registration had been confirmed I saw a 55 in Vizio at Walmart this week for 1350 They are reputed to give you a lot of bang for the buck but the old saying still is You get what you pay for and I am happy with what I got Anyone interested in LG should go to >> Pretty good Pros Well price for one I grabbed it for 1 699 shipped I m going to compare this to my other TV I think that would make most sense Samsung UN46B7000
I ll start out saying that the black levels are not nearly as close to as the Samsung Although it does have potential i have yet to really dig into the settings seeing as I ve only had it for about a week
Sound quality is much better than the Samsung But I didn t expect a bang form a 1 3 TV The LG is obviously a thicker beast at around 4 3
Ahh the WIRELESSSSS ohhhh Well its pretty cool actually Thus far i haven t had any issues with the signal The TV is about 13 feet away from the transmitter at this point One note though it does take a wee bit longer to boot about 13 seconds form the time you press power to seeing a picture Switching between inputs is no issue I hope my Harmony can handle that delay

Update I have the 55LH85 for about two weeks now The wireless used to be about 10 feet away from the TV strait across It was perfect
I moved the wireless box under the TV and i sometimes now get voice sync issues It s a matter of placement issue i know it
The TV it s self was how do I put this eh at first I ve had time to play with the settings and get a chance to use the built it picture optimization wizard It makes the TV shine I watched District 9 today again and it was amazing I was in the theater without a doubt Now for some 5 1 sound
Note The TV is not yet in Logitech s database If you are planning to use a Harmony you ll have some trouble getting it perfect I m working on submitting my settings to the database

LG 60PS80 60 Inch 1080p Broadband Plasma HDTV >> Great TV very nice picture once you change the setting to vivid Before I changed the setting I was unhappy with the brightness and color but once I changed it I loved it TV gets a little warm after a few minutes of watching so I m guessing it uses a lot of energy Nonetheless it is a great way to watch movies My only suggestion is to have a way to tether it to the stand so it would be safe to move it It just would be a little more secure >> Beautiful picture and easy to use I have had my TV for only 3 days but so far I am very satisfied with the product I have read some expert reviews that recommend waiting 300hrs before having it calibrated however I think the picture is great even without the calibration The standard definition of course wasn t as crisp so the next day I upgraded to a HD receiver for my cable and it looks wonderful The sound it also great and it has been very easy to use and set up
One of the features that attracted me to the TV was the availability of the internet most especialy Netflix on the TV I am not quite so tech savy so I wasn t sure how to do this The owners manual showed running a ethernet cable from your modem or wireless router to the LAN port on the TV The problem for me was that both were across the house and I really didn t want to run a cable across the house to the TV I tried to do some research on the internet to find out how to do this and most sites were showing connecting a computer or laptop via HDMI or other cable system however the great thing about this TV is that you shouldn t require a computer Finaly I called my sister who always knows a lot more about anything technical and she told me there is a product called Cisco Linksys PLTK300 Powerline Adapter 124 on Amazon you will also need 2 ethernet cables I just ordered it today so I can update how it works when I get the product Apparently it comes with two devices and one you connect to your wireless router and then plug into the wall and the second one you plug into your TV and then plug into the wall and it sends the internet signal through your electrical outlet I m not sure if it is common knowledge that such a product exists but maybe there is somebody out there who knows as little as myself about this and hopefully this helps >> Let Me Join the Crowd I have to parrot the previous reviews I ordered this tv on April 10 and have it up and running today Great service and very fast delivery On to the tv The picture on the LG is fantastic I replaced a dlp and even when that tv was brand new it came nowhere close to the bright rich colors of the LG No glare very good blacks and an ease to hookup
I have already tried the netcast feature and I have to say that it is great I didn t want to run a cable to the back of my house to the router so I purchased a VuDu wireless kit There is absolutely nothing to do but plug it in Works like a charm
I have nothing but raves for this television You won t be disappointed Also kudos to Vann s the store that supplied the television Excellent transaction
ADDED May 8 2010 Had a bump in the road While watching the tv it suddenly turned off When trying to turn back on it would immediately turn itself back off In short it turned out that the main board went out LG responded right away and sent a serviceman out He replaced the new board in a matter of minutes He told me that this is the first time he has seen that in this model and that he has only had to service 3 other models like this one That made me feel better
I have to compliment LG for their very quick service BTW I still love this tv

LG 37LC7D 37 inch 720p LCD HDTV >> TV IS BAD LG WILL NOT RESPOND TO PROBLEM This TV was a gift for us in May of 2007 purchased from Magnolia Home Theater and the extended warranty was not purchased The first problem it had required a factory modification 3 months after we received it It stopped responding to the remote and the menus on the TV were impossible to use via the side buttons The second problem showed up in early 2009 well beyond the 1 year warranty It turned itself off unexpectedly Repeatedly The repair service was called and we spent almost 500 00 on repairs The power supply was replaced in April 2009 In June 2009 it turned itself off again unexpectedly Of course the repair service would not back up their work And LG refused to do anything I am very disappointed in a company that will not replace a unit that is clearly defective in some way warranty or not That s bad business and bad customer relations I will not purchase an LG product again Purchasing an extended warranty on a new product is ludicrous has always been ludicrous It only adds to the up front cost and is merely a way for the seller to add to their profit betting that MOST of the units they sell will not have problems I believe it is a deceptive practice Did I have a choice and could I have purchased an extended warranty Yes from the seller but not from LG It seems that s the way companies do business these days just get it out the door don t worry about customer satisfaction when something goes wrong especially if it s only a low percentage of customers the majority of people will never know that our products are duds and we won t do anything to fix them >> Great TV I am not an expert in electronics so I will keep this short and sweet This tv was just the right size for my needs has an excellent picture as far as my eyes are concerned and the price was right I am pleased with the purchase >> Excellent TV We ordered the TV via Amazon and even though shipping would have been free I paid a little extra to have it delivered in 3 days because I feared the longer it stayed in the shipping process the better the chances of it being damaged
Anyway we are very happy with the TV The distance from which you watch it is important The best picture is from a distance of about 15 away Any closer and the picture isn t as great But it s hard to go back to regular TV once you ve watched it in HD I m hopelessly spoiled
The set up was EASY I read reviews about how difficult it was to set it up and that s bogus It was very easy Given I am electronically inclined but I think my husband could have set it up easily and he s a doof Haha
The sound is great too especially for built in speakers
I was scared to buy something this pricey online because if something goes wrong you re kind of screwed But the entire process from purchase to delivery was perfect I do recommend reading up on sellers though before you decide to go for it Read other customer reviews on the seller I changed my mind on a seller last minute and paid a little more for the TV just because I had a bad feeling

LG 47LH50 47 Inch 1080p 120Hz Broadband LCD HDTV Gloss Black >> WOW great TV good price This is my first LCD so I don t have a lot of experience to go by It has a wonderful picture and great sound and all the different ways to connect to it is amazing I think I will be learning about what can be done for quite a while Yesterday I was playing with the network feature and found that it can play a movie that is on a computer on my wireless network This was a open box set and it came with the wrong remote and manual once that was cleared up I think I got a great TV for a good price >> NOT DLNA Certified/Compliant I m going to keep this short but in summary not worth the money the network connectivity is not really working and it s NOT DLNA compliant You as might as well just buy a cheaper TV and an external box or buy a different brand
Here s why
Positive 1 Customer support is really friendly although unless you get the highest level reps who only the TV repair guy can call they re pretty much incompetent Every question I asked they had to put me on hold so they could ask a manager or Google it
2 The sound isn t bad
3 Bang for buck it s probably the lowest priced networked TV out there with Netflix BUT if you re looking to connect to other devices be prepared for some frustration or lack of success
4 The 120Hz does help I noticed significant difference from my 60Hz Sony Much easier on the eyes but LG isn t the only company that makes 120Hz tv s
Negative
1 NOT DLNA Certfied you know that standard that everything home connected is using LG decided to skip out and no plans to add Means that in the future as more devices come on board you likely won t be able to connect to them Have fun being tied to your PC and run everything through that
2 Very difficult to get connected to your PC spent 14 hours on the phone with tech support before we could even get it to connect to the PC It would not connect to my Seagate BlackArmor NAS nor my WD My World Edition NAS LG engineer said it was the drive s fault NOT true I returned this thing and bought a Samsung LN46B650 and connected fine My WD TV player also worked fine with both
3 The remote is REALLY uncomfortable and awkward Really lacking in features Number buttons are too far away from each other
4 You get a LOT of pixelation If you just came from analog this will knock your socks off BUT you have no idea what you re missing
In the end after all that time with the rep they just said I should return the unit It was really painful because I got a REALLY good deal on this 25 off the Amazon price through some Fry s deal Believe me I really wanted this thing to work But in the end I sent it back spent about 200 300 more on the Samsung LN46B650 and I have no regrets whatsoever The picture is just so much more sharp The sound is amazing remote has a lot of nice features you get PIP Netflix Yahoo Widgets Addt l Downloadable content and DLNA I was able to connect to my NAS drives no problem still working on getting it to stream mkv but other formats work fine
Don t bother with this LG TV

So HD Digital cable is unbelievably sharp Especially sports Especially the Nuggets
There is something to be said about movies or tv shows recorded before HD like Senfield or a movie like Transformenrs There is this thing about it at first you can t get away from and its tough to explain Its the 120Hz True motion tecnology that basicly up converts dvd quality picture to try to get closer to HD quality by rounding filling in artificially rendering more frames hence 120hz opposed to telivisions 60hz The manufacturer sets this on high so it is quite noticable at first After changing the setting in Advanced Controls It actually has a nice impact and as long as I can change between Low high off I m Happy
The wireless runs smooth as silk but you need direct non obstruction between box and front base of tv The box is good Nice amount of imputs of all kinds compoters old vcrs whatever currently mine is at a distance of 4 ft but will be moving to 20ft
I mounted it on the wall with an ultra thin 1 wall mount I had a small problem because the cord coming out the back was like 1 4 inches and i had to balance the otherside with something But it is secure and looks great
The tv is an Energystar tv so it has like 5 different power levels you can run It also has this light sensor that can sense the ambient light in the room and ajust the brightness of the screen So when its bright in the room the tv automatically adjusts brighter and same whae it is dark it dims to fit the suropundings
The stand is nice
The apperance of the tv itself is really beautiful As you know it has a translicent outer boarder Its kinda mocha y chocolate hue The liquid drop is sweet it is off when the tv is off it is red and moving when you turn it on and a light white when tv is on You can turn it off
Price I found this at 1289 with shipping 1/5/10 I would not pay more I was enitially looking for a 700 tv but didnt have the level of quality and dont for get the wireless
So I got just the powercord sticking out from the tv making it more flexable in room design
Thats about all I think needs ranting about enjoy >> Just what I needed This was set up with minimal problems I am using an outdoor antenna rotating and have connected the set to two DVD players a Sony blue ray and a Toshiba that plays DVDs from all countries The LG is a bit selective with regard to input and since I have two TVs and needed to send the signals to either I found that only the Octava switch boxes were capable of doing this The LG input did not get along well with other HDMI switch boxes Aside from that problem which few others will have this set worked perfectly and its could get a good signal even from an indoor antenna The only potential problem is that there appears to be a short lag between the audio and video if one uses a separate amplifier and speakers from the DVD There is an optical audio output on the transmission box that may prevent this but I have not tested it >> Don t buy the LG 47LH85 if you plan to use a media cabinet I bought this TV specifically for the wireless feature I bought a new high end media cabinet to hold all the hardware receiver cable box Wii TV transmitter etc only to find out that the transmitter does not work well when placed inside the cabinet The picture flickers consistently and the signal is very low Don t buy this TV if you want a clean environment

Pros It s huge for the price In this price range you are lucky to get a 50 52 120Hz LCD The menus are large and easy to use After changing the video settings the colors are beautiful and the black is deep HDMI self detection is cool kind of like windows USB I m using a DirecTV HD DVR and the channels are very nice even at 1080i Blu ray movies are phenomenal PS3 games are intense If you are a sports fan then you want to buy the highest Hz set you can for faster refresh rate and this set is great at 600Hz
Cons The main reason for only 4 stars is the glare on this TV because of the glossy screen it reflects even the lowest light It s heavy at 117 lbs The sound sucks but doesn t matter if you re using a surround system like most people do It could use another HDMI input but once again if you are using a home theater system with HDMI then you can pass through it instead and only need one input on the TV

The customer service folks from LG are not all that helpful and you ll get transfered a few times before getting to the TV Warrany people I spent 55 minutes on the phone during my last experience the majority of that time was spent listening to elevator music waiting to get an appointment with one of their authorized repair goons My Amazing picture has been amazingly broken for 37 days now they ve made two attempts to fix it and both failed well actually one succeeded for about 4 hours the remainder of that 37 days has been spent waiting on backorder parts and rescheduling appointments
Hopefully yours will not break down because LG although they claim to be the greatest company since sliced peanut butter do not blink at allowing a customer to sit with a broken product for over a month during the holidays I purchased two LCD TV s for Christmas and you can bet your sweet rear that they do not have an LG label on them

LG 52LG70 52 Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV >> 16 months old and flickering Well the title says it all 16 months old and flickering like a strobe light Suffice to say LG and I are done doing buisness forever after I get this piece fixed at my expense
I owned an LG monitor in the 90 s and swore off the company then forever I should have heeded my own warning and never purchased this pile With respect to my LG monitor from the 90 s two local repair shops refused to fix the monitor due to LG s terrible dealer service One refused due to personal issues he had with LG must have had a grudge and the second made an attempt LG sent the wrong parts and he called me and said pick it up i ain t fixing it After repeated calls to LG s customer service they arranged a return ship Well I didn t learn from that that little life lesson and now I m faced with a 1200 turd once again
I also made the mistake of buying a 600 LG dishwasher that hardly scrubbs at all another mistake Luckily the LG washer and dryer I bought hasn t been bad
This LG 52 scarlet however makes me angry at LG all over again Grrrr >> This is a steal I Paid 3 G s for mine when it came out I love this tv its my prized possession The picture is great its the best tv to game on I never have motion blur i think i saw it like twice watching a movie made in the 80 s The sound is not the best and that is the only thing i dont like about it it is loud but the quality is lacking within the hidden speakers The tv looks amazing any time anyone comes over they will definitely have something to say about the tv without a doubt Its a head turner I have had no problems with this tv and i have owned it for about 2 in a half years So you know your money isnt going to waste If you are having doubts about this purchase dont i paid 3 000 for this tv when it came out so for it to be less than 2G s thats incredible I do wish it was 3d capable but its not the newest most expensive tv on the market anymore but at one point in time not to long ago it was the Tv of Tv s and still is high up there I love this tv i really really do and if you get it you will to >> Exactly What I Was Looking For No Relection This is exactly what I was looking for My biggest concern is over reflections from various light sources I have an open living room and a TV position that would reflect light from multiple rooms if anyone else was doing anything This completely solved my reflections problem Also don t forget about reflections from the frame You can t avoid piano black frames since they are on nearly all TVs today However there is a difference among them whether they are a dimmed black reflection from a true glossy black frame like this one or if they have a super shiny glossy clear coat of plastic on top or worse yet clear plastic that extends beyond the edge of the black frame to catch and reflect light from the side and back My TV is in front of a window and would enhance light from the window if I had the clear plastic frame edge of some newer TVs So the frame has always been nearly as important to the TV to me This one has both I couldn t avoid glossy piano black unless I went with the cheapest ones but this one came the closest In actual use I find the frame reflections are barely noticeable with many light sources in my room Best yet the picture is absolutely non reflective in my open room Some LCD screens partially reflect but this one is the best Someone can be in my kitchen or dining room with the lights on without bothering the picture in the living room at all
Secondly I needed a swivel stand a very wide viewing angle due to a corner TV setup relative to 2 couches neither of which were really centered on the TV I really want to be able to swivel the TV depending on if just one person watching or many guests or pointing more towards an open area for Wii players to stand and play Wii The swivel stand works great It seems sturdy holds its position and it still easy to swivel Regarding viewing angle according to reviews this doesn t have as good as a viewing angle However I have found the angle to seem unlimited in my living room Nobody has really noticed significant loss from sitting in the further seats I still like to center it where I normally sit but it really seems fine to me from nearly any of the seats I bought this understanding it might not have as good of a viewing angle after deciding non reflective was more important to me but in use I am absolutley thrilled with the viewing angle
I also didn t want to compromise on a very good picture but I would personally take non reflective any day over picture perfection However I am thrilled with this picture too As a general rule you balance picture quality and reflectiveness A super shiny picture shows through the detail color best I believe non reflective qualities act to hinder the underlying picture a little So that is why so many LCDs are getting more reflective I believe this is offset by increasing brightness and how far off center it stays crisp I ve already mentioned the viewing angle seems perfect to me but note that professional reviews have commented on a lower viewing angle But again I think you have to choose the balance of non reflectiveness vs angle vs how much to offset by LCD brightness
It has plenty of inputs The sound is standard for a TV fine for most TV shows but movies are better with a nice surround sound system instead
A few minor negatives is that switching between screen modes 4 3 wide zoom1 zoom2 requires you to press the Quick Menu button then right left on picture mode then return My Vizio TV has a picture mode button and is easier Also the volume setting applies across all inputs It does not automatically remember and change depending on input So when I switch to HDMI input to watch a DVD I have to turn the volume down on the TV since I use my sound system My Vizio TV remembers the sound level for each input which is nice So I can go back to TV watching on my Vizio after a DVD and sound is back on at the normal level Same for video games So the Vizio TV modes are easier to use than the LG but these are only minor to me I just didn t realize how nice they were on my Vizio until I got a TV without them
