I recently purchased this product and I cannot be any happier with it

The picture quality is excellent the interface is very user friendly and it provides more than enough connectivity sockets HDMI Composite 3 way cables etc for any average user like myself to have no problem connecting cable boxes blu ray players a home theater system a ps3 and other gaming consoles

The 1080p picture quality with the Tru Motion feature make it so that blu ray picture quality is beyond excellent I am even happy with the remote control setup I found that for watching non HD content turning the Tru Motion off is optimal and luckily turning this feature on and off is extremly easy fast and straight forward On the other hand I recently watched the new Star Trek in blu ray with the Tru Motion feature on and it looked amazing

The picture quality is better than on other 1080p LCD TV I own I own a 42 inch Toshiba and a 40 inch Bravia the sound quality is comparable but the speaker volume is a bit lower than on the other two LCDs I however found this to be a trivial issue the sound volume is good just not great since I connect the TV to a home theater system

All in all if you want am easy to use LCD 1080p 120Hz TV with superb picture quality for less than other comparable TVs this is a great choice

Just bought the set yesterday set it up and couldn t stop watching it Added the LG Blue Ray DVD Player/Home Theater system with IPod dock/remote NetFlix Ethernet capability etc and I feel like I m in a movie theater The functions and ease of use on both devices are great

The only drawback I ve noticed so far with the TV is with deleting channels from the autoscan selections it takes several screen flips to remove each channel but since I ve only had the set one day maybe I m doing something wrong

Avoid at all cost Unless you want to be using the buttons on your TV to change channels after only 10 months of use I purchased this TV less then a year ago and ALREADY the remote is no longer responding I ve tried changing the batteries unplugging the the TV for an extended period and still it does not work Called LG customer service and they think its the IR receiver within the TV that s defective Good thing I m still within warranty NO They have sent 2 technicians to attempt to repair my TV already and neither of them was able to fix the problem Now my warranty has expired and LG is unwilling to extend the warranty to fix a problem i claimed prior to the expiration what a bunch of sly gooses Good god I dont know how angry I am at this company I am never buying anything from LG again

I wanted a 32 TV for my bedroom to replace a 19 tube TV I purchased this product at Bestbuy when it was on sale for 447 99 and this TV is worth every penny The picture quality is good on low def channels and amazing on Hi def channels A lot of people complained about the speakers on this TV I m guessing they were expecting Bose quality to come out of these little 10w speakers

I ve had this TV for 9 months now and it is a gem I got it for 1550 00 at and WOW what a value the 120hz true motion is superb but it does take some getting used to And if you don t like it you can turn it off or put it on low Vizio and other TV s do not have this feature The sound is great fills the room up very nicely but don t expect perfection they are TV speakers The picture is superb i have a DLP as well and this picture is much clearer The colors jump off the screen and the blacks are perfect The one draw back is the halo effect it only happens when the screen is black and there is white letters but this only happens during credits and thats about it so who cares Get this TV if you can find one it is LG s first generation LED and it is a good one It s got tons of features to mess around easy to navigate menu and great looking Black and blue YES very thin and it also has a very good swivel stand that sold me on it The on/off buttons on the TV are touch sensitive and very good looking If you can find this TV for under 1800 your golden LG did it right and i won t be second guessing my purchase any time soon 5 stars

Based on my experience and satisfaction with my 42 LG I decided to stick with the brand and purchased the 26 26LG30 purchased 1/09 Shortly after buying the 26 the screen died on my 42 and needed to be replaced thankfully I bought support Recently the 26 screen died and after 2 attempts by support to fix it they opted to replace it with a comparable TV

Other things noted on the 26 model poor sound quality almost sounded like a blown speaker with lower tones Angle of viewing was also not great you needed to be almost directly in front of the screen for a clear picture

Since they decided replace it with something comparable I opted to go with a 26 Samsung LN26B460 instead of another LG Picture is clear from all angles no issues with sound and overall picture quality blacks colors etc is far superior to the LG

I currently work for a clinic My doctor purchased this TV on December 08 and we had a HUGE problem with the DVD player right now barely a year after purchasing it

My boss wanted to be budget friendly a little bit so he thought this TV was well bargained for under 600 with a DVD player attached On top of that we play DVDs only for the patients no cable or even satellite antennas Little did he know this DVD player was NOT built for marathon DVD playing AT ALL It is loud just like everyone had suggested here in the review board It takes some time to recognize the DVDs and eject them as well If you play DVDs in our way roughly 5 times a week at least 8 hours of non stop play time you will come to the point where it does not eject the DVD anymore Unable to eject the disc the DVD player will re insert the disc automatically and assume you want to play the disc again A HUGE headache for all the office staffs and few of our long term patients who suffered from over dosage of Planet Earth you can Q A me on ANY FRAME I kid you not within the episodes of From Pole to Pole Mountains and Fresh Water and I can tell you exactly what s going on there matching the music theme on the back and mimicking David Attenborough s narration at the same time

Another negative aspect is the viewing angle range of the screen off angles are pretty dark our patients ended up cluttering in the middle of the room to watch the TV quite amusing but very inconvenient for all of them Perhaps it would be better for a bedroom TV

I have read the entire manual and found NONE of the troubleshoot problems are related to the DVD player which is how they hide their little secrets of this incompetent freebie We are facing a potential charge of more than 200 dollars to fix this little thing It could have been more budget friendly if we purchase these two separately So be aware of these TV w/ DVD players

I am very happy with this television After setting it up properly the picture is excellent I used the video settings found here in the reviews and on I compared this TV to other models and the picture was as good or better than any of the other manufacturers We really wanted a larger screen but that would have meant a new TV stand stereo stand speaker stands This one fits perfect

The price is great at 400 450 However the new one is quite a bit higher priced The only thing that I do not like is the lack of audio out RCA jacks for my older stereo I am able to work around this lack of jacks by using the audio jacks on my cable/DVR box

I have read complaints regarding the sound quality but it seems pretty good to me

The LG 55LD650 was not available in local retailers so we went out on a limb and bought it sight unseen from Amazon

We had previously decided on an similar model from another brand until we read about an increase in quality issues So we changed gears and started looking at the LGs Amazon not only had the availability but the price and free delivery couldn t be beat

The setup was simple including connecting to cable blu ray gaming system and surround sound
The picture quality is great
Someone else commented about sound issues in their review we have not experienced any problems with the sound We have it on a low setting and the sound is loud and clear We also have it hooked up to our surround sound but tend not to use it for regular TV viewing

We are very happy with the product and would buy it again

Before I bought this LG I was planning on purchasing the equivalent Samsung However I had read some reviews about a rainbow effect that could be scene in reflections on the screen I thought it was an exaggeration until I went to Best Buy and saw it for myself The rainbow effect is horrible and can not believe that Samsung put that on the market What I also found out is that only LG and Sony make a good matte screen in the 55 size The room that the TV was going to be in has 6 windows and 2 skylights There was no way that a shiny screen would work Anyway I obviously chose the LG over Sony and I am loving this TV The picture is incredible One thing that I should mention you ll most likely want to turn off the Tru Motion feature It comes with it turned on by default and I thought for sure that it should be on I started watching some HD shows and some DVD s right away and was not very happy with this super smooth motion that everything had It would remind you of a soap opera since they are shot with video cameras and have that same smooth motion It s hard to describe but you would know it when you see it I really didn t like it but the easy solution was to turn off tru motion Now everything looks normal to me The internet features are really cool too I am very happy with this purchase

I also got this tv through the deal at Fry s Picture quality is exceptional but what really puts this set over it s contemporaries is it s ability to stream media For those that are interested in this you can stream through the USB port or over the LAN connection It will read vob files off of your drive without any additional equipment Pretty handy for those looking at any of the external media streamers which will run about 100 to 150 for high definition The menu system is simple and this set is less than 4 deep when wall mounted I m now looking for another LG to replace my Sony The price on Amazon is not bad with the free shipping and lack of taxes

This was purchased for the den which is where my internet router sits This made it possible to directly connect the TV to the internet for high quality Netflix streaming which works beautifully and reliably The TV does not support a wireless connection

Besides Netflix the TV is used to watch HD/SD cable programs and for playing Xbox 360 games

The TV has a beautiful picture once you adjust the settings to suit you There are built in wizards to help you adjust the picture quality I suggest turning off the TruMotion option because it tends to make film look strange during panning shots as if the show were on video rather than on film

The sound is ok better than average but with very little bass or depth at least in our den environment

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SOUND OPTIONS There are no RCA audio out jacks The only audio out option is the digital optical output port I wasn t aware of this I never thought to check as all other TV s I ve had provide the RCA ports Because of this limitation I wasn t able to use the external speakers that I had planned to use However I was able to buy an inexpensive < 200 Philips home theater system that did the job just fine

Overall I m extremely happy with this TV and would highly recommend it

I replaced a 42 plasma which I had thought was great but when I hooked this up and watched Avatar bluray I had never seen such a high quality picture Tonight we watched the Wizard of Oz since tomorrow we are going to Wicked and we wanted our daughter to watch the movie first and even there the quality difference was amazing You could see the graininess of the film and the incredibly fake props Even with that the picture quality was still incredible and I was able to easily see details I had never before seen such as the scarecrow s support wire when he was against the post and that the Professors trailer said Balloon Exhibitionist

I cannot rave enough about this TV The only problem which is with the entire line is that the beautiful black exterior gathers dust quite effectively The screen does not but the black exterior quickly looks gray with dust

Just got the LG 42PJ350 plasma so I haven t had it very long this won t be that kind of review This is a great tv It s our first flat screen hdtv The difference between this and my old SONY Trinitron CRT is like night and day The contrast is amazing the colors are vibrant off angle viewing is flawless and there are more than enough adjustments that you can make The sound is good all by itself in a medium sized room And the screen is huge I can t believe how wonderful it is to watch anything on this tv

Some technical junk the digital tuner is excellent it pulls in lots of channels way more than the old converter box the gummint bought us HD channels look fantastic 720p is plenty good I don t think you need 1080p unless you have source material that can take advantage of it and even then you probably won t be able to tell the difference Most of what we watch is broadcast tv and old fashioned dvd s so we don t have much need of more pixels If that sounds like you then get a 720p plasma and save yourself 500 Oh yeah and the remote control is very easy to use big buttons where it matters and very intuitive

The setup is easy it shouldn t take anyone more than 15 minutes But we didn t even have to do that since Amazon s shipping partner took care of all that for us Way to go Amazon and CEVA shipping too

I reviewed LCD 26 and 32in TVs for weeks looking at specs and design and I finally decided on the LG350 for our master bedroom So far I m very pleased with my selection It came down to the Samsung 26 C450 and this one For the money and options the LG was a better pick for sure I must say the sound is by far best on this TV than any other LCD I looked at The TV turns on quickly 2 3sec some delay much longer The blacks are black and the colors look great even on standard def channels Some LCDs look horrible on SD channels but not this one Very pleased with the menu setup and the remote control The only thing I ll say I don t care for is the picture wizard setup It s almost easier to just use the standard pre set picture settings and make only minor adjustments to fit your room The stand swivels smoothly which the Sony and Samsung don t I also like that it s not a glossy screen with lots of reflections I see very little blur when viewing fast moving options You see it but not like some other 60Hz TVs So if you are looking for a great LCD for under 380 00 I highly recommend this model Oh and don t let anyone tell you any different If you are looking at 32 and below 720p is just as good as any 1080p model in this size range

only way this TV could be anymore perfect is for it to have a built in Blue ray or DVD player

Picture quality on this tv is excellent it has an IPS panel black levels are impressive color is vibrant And you can tweak the picture to your likeing with a ton of various options Took me a while to get the picture quality just right for gaming HD content and SD content SD tv actually looks pretty good on this tv suprisingly sharp picture quality on it Though this being a LCD tv the picture isn t crystal clear in darker areas you can see some obvious blurring or trailing but only if you really want to notice and its not as bad as the latest Samsung in brighter areas blurring is not noticeable at all in Modern Warfare 2 for example darker wood textures you can see the blur when moving on brighter wall textures there is no blur

Speakers are decent not going to blow you away with the sound but they aren t complete crap either Like the picture sound also has various tweaking options

Remote is pretty standard doesn t look cheap and doesn t go overboard with the options But is has everything you d accept to be on it

Also has a headphone jack and unlike Samsungs you can control the volume of the headphone jack with your remote

You can also display pictures or play music with a usb stick I don t think I ll be using this feature Would ve been nice if it allowed you to play videos from the usb stick but they only have that feature on their higher end models

One problem is that if you switch the input to hdmi and then go back to AV or TV input there is no sound You have the turn off the tv and turn is back again to get the sound back

There are more detailed reviews before this one so I choose not to be redundant Set up is easy and the remote is simple and easy to use This LCD has full array LED backlighting The real thin LED sets are using edge lighting with diffusers They are OK but the light is not always evenly dispersed It appears more mfgs are using edge lighting since it is probably less costly to produce and the sets are much thinner Either way the LCD sets with LED backlighting give you an amazing picture Sound quality is average as most of thr newer sets seem to be designed for use with a separate sound system The frame of the 42LH90 is not as narrow as other sets thus making it look king of bulky for a 42 inch set The pedestal mount that comes with the unit is somewhat wobbly It is a buyers market right now so you should be able to get a local retailer to offer the set for the same price as on line I did Expect to pay 1000 to 1100 right now early May 2010 That s not much money for a 42 inch LED 1080p 120Hz quasi 240Hz HDTV

The 42LH90 is a very good TV Very good picture A little blooming I just listened to some advice in other reviews to calibrate the tv myself I used the STANDARD selection as my jumping off point I really didn t realize that some people on TV look so bad The picture quality is really good I have it connected to my own audio system Swivel stand is great I had an LG 42 inch 720p 1100 to 1 resolution from 3 or 4 yrs ago This TV is quite lighter throws off less heat and has a more superior picture I hope the quality and durability is the same So far so good

I have been looking around for a 1080p TV for a long time to upgrade my room and I finally came to buy this TV and I would never look back I wanted a TV good for gaming has great picture clarity and of course good HD playback whether it be Blu Ray or HD channels on cable This TV has lived up to all of my expectations that I had for it except for one problem The 240Hz TruMotion even when on low has some distorting effect on moving background images Usually nothing that takes a lot away from the overall picture and nothing that lasts more than a couple seconds but I always seem to find those things I am convinced it is the 240Hz considering I have watched the same movies on 120Hz 1080p LED TV and there was only very slight distortions When playing a Blu Ray on 1080p it is less noticeable than if you where watching HBO HD or some other Cable TV HD channel

Picture clarity and brightness are phenomenal We have the Samsung 55 LED set downstairs and when I compared it almost looked like this LG was brighter and was more clear when playing a Blu Ray disc or playing a PS3 game Sound quality is very good of built in speakers Usually I can t let it go over 40 otherwise it is too loud when comparing it to the Samsung sometimes we need to put the volume all the way up to 85 90

Overall I am very happy with this TV for the price that I paid for it I just bought a new Blu Ray player to replace my Samsung P1500 I will be hooking up a Panasonic DMP DB85K later this week to see if it will make any difference in Blu Ray clarity So far the best movie that I have watched on this TV picture wise is District 9 watched that yesterday and WOW it was an amazingly clear crisp and bright picture

If you are looking for a closer to budget priced 1080p LED TV this would be the TV you should consider

2 days ago I hooked up my Panasonic DMP DB85K Blu Ray player and I will say there is a a slight difference over my older Samsung model I went through the settings on the DVD player and turned on the 24p setting plays the dvd at 24 frames per second which is what movies are recorded in and there was a good difference in playback

I also played around with some settings in the picture menu about the distortion about black edges/images I turned the Black Level setting to High and I keep TruMotion 240hz to Low and I notice that there is less distortion on Blu Ray play back I will continue to play around with some settings and see if there can be any more changes I can make

LG INFINIA 50PK750 50 Inch 1080p Plasma HDTVMuch better than I thought I originally wanted a Panasonic wireless but after reading several reviews and found a very low price i took the chance and what a WINNER I was when I received it Very happy with it I got it even cheaper than the Panasonic P42G25 The only negative side is the lack of the wireless dongle that you must purchase apart but this seems to be a general policy among top TV brand names Definitely I recommend it

This is one of the Best TVs available on the market especially considering it s price I ve had this TV for about a week now and have nothing major to complain I was nervous getting a plasma TV due issues like glare buzz weight form factor ghosting burn in etc But this TV proved to live out most of the disadvantages of plasmas

Pros

1 Color Accuracy Color accuracy great without even tweaking any calibration settings I like the THX cinema mode the best

2 Slick The TV has a slim form factor and the uniform glass top Bezel does not pop out of the screen We absolutely love it s looks

3 DLNA This is the first TV I owned with DLNA capability I installed the Nero Home media essentials that came with this TV on my laptop and I was able to watch photos and videos that are on my laptop in no time The video quality also feels upscaled and close to HD

4 Plug and Play USB I connected my USB hard drive and instantly there is a prompt on the TV to play videos music and photos

5 Netcast and Widgets The TV comes with Netflix Youtube Vudu Picasa widgets and it also supports the Yahoo widget gallery I haven t yet tried Netflix or Vudu But Youtube and Picasa were really good The picture quality of the youtube videos was not great but it really is a matter of the video itself but not the TV Yahoo widgets were good too I especially use the Twitter widget a lot

6 Games The TV came with some games pre installed I haven t explored this feature much But I tried Sudoku and it was simple to use

7 No Buzz Since I read in one of the earlier reviews about the buzz sound I tried hard to hear it from my typical viewing distance about 10ft and I heard nothing

8 Ease of use The menus and features are very easy to navigate and operate

9 Remote The remote is really slick and with big keys and very easy to operate Also has decent short cuts to most of the frequently used features

Cons

1 Black Levels Black levels are not as dark as I d hoped for in a Plasma In fact in some cases I tend to think they are not even on par with some of the latest better performing Sony and Samsung LCDs I was a little disappointed with this But hey you get what you pay for

2 Glare Like any other plasma TV this TV produces a bit of glare But this is much better compared to a lot of other plasmas I ve seen and in most cases you wouldn t really notice it unless you are looking for it

3 PIP/POP I d hoped that a 2010 TV comes with the basic PIP/POP features But seems like this TV does not have it It s not a deal breaker for me though

4 Zoom The picture zoom feature is a little cumbersome

5 Typing Netcast widgets use the number pad for typing But Yahoo widgets twitter rely on the visual keyboard and entering each alphabet takes a lot of strokes I wish LG offered a remote with QWERTY keyboard something similar to the one that comes with Vizio VF552XVT

6 Video format compatibility I tried playing several videos of different formats divx divx HD mpeg mp4 wmv avi etc It was able to handle all formats But within a given format some videos were not recognized videos that I have are even though of the same format are different in bit rate compression resolution etc Sometimes it does not recognize the audio I wish LG comes up with a firmware update to expand it s support

One feature I haven t tried is the wireless connectivity This TV is both WiFi ready and Wireless 1080p ready But both of these optional accessories which I do not currently have

I haven t played around with a lot of picture settings yet Mostly because I didn t need to But as I explore more I shall come back to update this post

This may not be the best TV on market But for a little over 1000 bucks you can not go wrong with this TV especially if you are not a videophile and picky about deep black levels

i bought this tv from amazon about a week ago along with a toshiba dvd recorder/player DR570 and i am impressed with both products i did my research on lcd tvs before i bought this i was looking for something between 14 and 18 for my bedroom everyone told me i should get a bigger one because it would look small in my bedroom well i don t need a 48 tv for anything and was always satisfied with my 13 orion tv i bought at walmart about 10 years ago time for an upgrade i really wanted a 16 but couldn t find one so i settled for the lg 19

i recieved this tv in prompt time ordered march 19th standard shipping recieved march 25th via ups setup was a breeze i programmed this tv with a universal remote that i already had for use with my old tv the picture comes in great volume is awesome there is a slight delay when changing channels but i got used to that fairly quickly also i ve been so used to turning on my tv and immediately it comes on the lg takes a few seconds but i expected that with any new tv i would purchase i love the fact that there is a sleep setting on this set i also love the fact that there are different picture settings i can choose from i can set my own or use the preset natural cinema sport or vivid settings there may be a few more i forgot to mention the same with the sound i can set my own or use the preset options instead

the sound and picture quality are good with the set but they are not the best that there is out there if you re looking for a less pricey set to meet your basic needs this is the tv for you

i love the fact that this tv is fairly mobile i ve moved a lot in the past and i can t stress enough how much of a pain it is to have to unhook every cord and cable from a big bulky set to move this set is light and sleek looking the stand does not swivel which is kind of a downer but the pros definitely outweigh this one con also i love the fact that there is cord management in the back a cheap little plastic clip can hold all of my cords together to help hide them a bit and make this lg tv look a little more impressive the plastic clip is a little cheap yes but it s in the back of the tv so who cares

it s a great tv and i would definitely buy a larger one for my living room when the time is right

I returned a Samsung UN32C5000 and bought this one see review of the Sammy here on Amazon

I purchased this set from somewhere else Dad has a retiree discount so I got it cheaper but otherwise would had no problem buying from here

I only had the set for a few days but I really like it so far I m doing a break in period for the set not really necessary but helps age the phosphor evenly so the settings are a little low right now but still fantastic I watched two BD movies so far The Hurt Locker StarTrek and they were awesome to watch Colors were vivid and the detail kept my eyes popping out lol I don t know if I ever could be happy going back to DVDs again lol

Note on plasma Tvs Burn In has not been an issue with plasma TVs for quite a few years but you may still get some Image Retention I have seen very little IR on this set and what did show up quickly went away I wouldn t even consider it an issue

I know Samsung has been having problems with loud buzzing sound coming from their plasma TVs and a few heard it from other manufacturers as well including LG but I cannot hear any buzz coming from mine I even held my head up to the TV and the only hum I heard was the mini frig in the room

The screen is very uniform in lighting Probably my only wish would be for darker blacks My set is not calibrated yet so I know it will go darker than it is now It s not bad mind you but you can tell where the black bars end from a movie and the black bezel begins which would disappear with the darkness of the room

For the Gamers As far as I can tell there is very little lag or none at all I tried a couple games ie GTAIV Crackdown and got into a Semi truck What I would do was pull the right trigger as fast as I could to go into reverse which causes the back ups lights to come on with the beeping sound Even closing my eyes I would hear the click from the trigger at the same time as the reverse beep The controls even felt the same coming from a computer TN Panel monitor

Just to point out this TV does have a glossy screen My complaint with the Sammy was they stated it eliminated reflections but it was mirror like The reflections are not as bad on this set and at least I knew about it ahead of time

So overall I am real happy right now with this set

Well I got my pk550 on tuesday So far i m in love Watching blu rays on my ps3 is a new experience I want to go through all my movies and watch them again The panel is just sexy For my ps3 for blu rays I use cinema mode obviously recalibrated and the picture is so smooth and crisp My brother noticed right away how smooth and real the movement was For my xbox 360 im using Game Mode recalibrated as well I ve been playing mass effect 2 and it s way more vibrant and rich I have no issue with IR or burn in As long as you set your tv to Orbiter and do a color wash every so often it cleans away any IR in a matter of seconds
I was very nervous as this was my first plasma and i read about burn ins and IR But after only 3 days and doing research I feel more confident in the tv and plasmas in general I just do the color wash mode sometimes when im gone to break in it/speed the break in process up If im playing a game that has a HUD on for a while ill pause the game and do a quick color wash for about 10 seconds and set it back to orbiter and keep playing Now this may sound annoying but honestly it s not You get used to it and get real quick at using the tv

Also the pk550 has a load of calibration options I love that Anyway it s a great tv def best bang for you buck for a 50 1080p plasma This is my first plasma and it s an LG I have much more faith in plasmas now Especially lg Pick this set up

I won t bore you with the specs or feature sets of this t v or what I have my setting at If you are looking at purchasing a new t v and are on a budget then this is the t v for you However for 200 bucks more you could move up to the 750 LG has done an impressive job with there sets I love my 550 and will stick with LG for the foreseeable future as should you They are truly beautiful sets

The TV is fine my issue is with the manual it does not even mention the remote control the DVD that comes with the TV is just like the written manual nothing special in it I am not sure why they even provide a DVD The remote has features that are just not understandable and the on screen set ups does not address the remote Another thing that I don t understand is in the set up it goes thru a clock set up even to include day light saving time but a clock/time never appears on the screen It does have a feature to automatically turn on and off so I guess that is what the clock is all about but auto on and off is not important to me I bought the LG because of the name I previously had a 42 Philips and had no problems but in looking at reviews many people did have problems with the new 42 Philips so I decided to pay more money for the LG At this point I am not sure if it is better or not than a Philips

This television is awesome It was incredibly easy to set up right out of the box I do not know a lot about electroncs and i was able to set it up and connect DVD and video games with ease The picture is fantastic clear and crisp and great color I am very happy with my purchase and am estatic about the great price

I m here waiting for UPS to pick up my LG 42 300 which I took out of the box just three days ago As soon as I turn it on I noticed a cloudy area in the screen about 3/4 length and 1/4 area of the screen This was easiest to see just as the Tv was turned on for that second or two before it finds the channel When I had something on with bright colors I really didn t notice any difference but when the colors were dark or when I turned on a black and white movie the cloud was quite visible I called LG directly who informed me that their were no LG technicians available and worse didn t know when one would be avaiable The advice was just to return the set to the store I suppose this is the best advice because I had just gotten it and there were problems already but I was surprised that LG wouldn t want to keep a TV that was already in my home from being returned to the store and ultimately I suppose to them I was willing for a techinician to take a look at it because I liked the picture quality at those times when the cloud was not noticeable I don t think I want to take the chance of getting another LG and will order another brand instead

Budget priced 2010 model with BANG FOR BUCK for 60Hz shoppers very accurate colors out of the box AND a deep color tweaking menu and surprisingly rich/dark blacks as far as LCDs go

Bad
60Hz means no 3D boo but this has equal PQ in every other way as the 47LD550 42LD550 yay the desktop stand assembly is far from the most secure stand only 2 HDMI and 1 Component input but RGB/VGA input is able to receive video color levels as well as PC color levels

Bottom Line
I m not a T V nerd audio/videophile forum junkie but I am fairly knowlegable regarding A/V and tech stuff I ve had several HDTVs since 2006 and closely compared LCD sets by Samsung LG and Sony with Panasonic Viera plasmas for the 2008/2009 model years The 42LD450 has BETTER PQ to my eyes than the LG model 42LG40 the 120Hz 2009 model 2010 > 2009 with 120Hz series offering little more than the refresh rate and the gimmicky motion smoothing feature TruMotion In comparing the 42LD550 and the 42LD450 they both calibrated almost identically the only difference between the sets being that the 42LD550 has a 120Hz refresh rate

Sony s KDL 40EX600 and KDL 40EX400 also fell short to this BARGAIN BIN LG SET Don t take my word for it actually DO TAKE MY WORD FOR IT Need a 42 1080p Get the 120/240/480/600Hz model in 2 3 years when 3D technology is CHEAP AND VASTLY IMPROVED 60Hz is all you need and this TV will give you picture that would have carried a 1800 price tag in 2008

If the 1 factor to you is having the best picture quality possible simply don t go LCD picture quality is the 1 most important factor to you then let me advise you that NO LCD set will offer you superior PQ than other technologies

This is my second LCD tv but my first large screen I just had trouble trying to justify spending over a grand or more on a tv when I have other projects around the house I should be throwing money at The first one I ve had for a couple years 19 Magnavox I used as a monitor and Xbox games Netflix now its just a monitor

I also found this for 658 00 which was low enough for my to rationalize the purchase and not feel guilty I m very happy with the picture and the number of hookups You ll be able to run everything through this tv the only reason I don t have my desktop through it is location It doesn t have all the latest and greatest web features but I think it s a quality 1080p HD picture which is really what I was looking for

If you re real techy or visual phile then this probably isn t for you but for the average viewer/user it s hard to beat the picture for the price

This is my first HDTV purchase and am pleased so far Read as I don t know much about this Setup was simple the price was right and it has some popular energy saving features

The picture was sharp and clear Multiple preset modes cinema game normal make setup easy but there are also custom fine tuning adjustments available It does not appear to have network/internet capability but I will purchase a Blue ray DVD player with that feature separately The unit has an optical audio out so I can use my older receiver for 5 1 sound

The remote feels cheap but gets the job done I imagine one rarely uses the manufacturer s TV remote so LG and other makers probably do not spend much on them I did not notice any backlight seeping out of case which I understand is a problem on some TVs

For an entry level buyer this was a solid purchase I paid 658 I thought that was reasonable for a 1080p set in 42 I rated it 4 stars on because I do not have much product knowledge yet

I could not be happier with this LG 37 inch 1080p 120Hz television I did my research for a long while before making this purchase and the price was unbeatable for all of the features that this model offers The 1080p was a priority for me as well as the 120Hz I watch a great deal of sports so this feature was a must have The picture quality is terrific and the overall appearance of the television is sleek and stylish The set up was very easy as well The 37 inch is hard to find elsewhere and it is perfect for the size of my living room I would recommend this television without hesitation

I bought this over the Samsung I wanted because it was a 37 which is closer to what I wanted instead of a 40 When I got it home it set up quick and easy However the picture has yet to be the correct ratio Whether it is 4 3 or 16 9 the picture is either a little stretched or cut off I ve tried both the auto settings and the manual and neither appear to make any difference The beauty of my Samsung is that it automatically adjusts to the program for the proper picture ratio the LG does not As for picture quality it is terrible The 20 year old RCA CRT TV that I just ditched for this had a better quality picture All in all I am very disappointed and will soon be returning this the store where I purchased it

This TV is incredible Sure you can buy a Vizio or Hitachi or something for much less but come on if you re spending 700 get something great The options on this TV are fantastic so you can adjust the picture until it is absolutely perfect for you The 120Hz TruMotion works quite well but if you don t like it you can easily turn it off same with the 24P Real Cinema Intelligent Sensor Energy Saver and every other feature

The only thing more incredible than the TV was the service I received from Video Audio Center I purchased the TV on Amazon but from V AC There was an issue with my original purchase and I have never dealt with a more gracious quick to help seller than Video Audio Center Just fantastic

Note my DirecTV looks awesome via HDMI my PC looks awesome via the SVGA HD15 input be aware there is no DVI input so you may need a DVI/SVGA or DVI/HDMI adapter which can be purchased at monoprice for 5 and my old DVD player looks fine via component cables

Also note I have occasionally noticed some video/audio sync issues but it has nothing to do with the TV or type of cable used to connect to the DirecTV What I have found is that on some of the older programming things not filmed in HD but now being broadcast in HD you see the sync issue which is not corrected by switching to component cables as some people have suggested but when you watch new programming there is no issue at all And even if there is an actual sync issue which is doubtful your 37 tv qualifies for free in house servicing which would probably take care of any issue in 10 minutes

I would not buy an LG LCD TV I have own 3 of them two 42 and one 32 and all of them went on the blink within 2 years or less The first 42 would not power on at all and needed a new main board at a cost of 600 The second 42 would produce sound but no picture screen black and the third the 32 would power on and off by itself when changing channels The last two are now at the recycler as the cost to repair was over half of a new one I replaced them with Sony s and the picture quality is far better so far with no issues

I spent close to an hour in the store comparing LCD TVs This LG stood out with its sharp and bright colors I used the store s Internet connection to check out the reviews but since it is a new model there wasn t many The older model however was popular among gamers

The speakers on this TV are hidden on the back and this gives it a neat look The speakers also sound great There are different sound options in the menu plus advanced picture controls In Intelligent Sensor mode the TV adjust the brightness and color contrast according to the room lighting conditions The picture quality is easy to setup using the picture wizard option

This TV has three HDMI connections in the back to use with your laptop or desktop plus an RGB VGA Cable There is also a USB 2 0 port in the back I connected a USB thumb drive and was able to listen to music and display my digital pictures on the screen

Over all I am very pleased with quality of this LG model and recommend it to anyone who wants to buy a LCD TV for under 1k and I mean not for picture quality but the size of the screen since this had as good if not better picture quality as other more expensive models in the store

This was our first hdtv and for the price I m very happy with what we got The only thing I would be critical on was the freight company who delievered it It was 2 and a half hours after our schedualed appointment time and the driver for pilot freight wasn t a pleasant person by any means

But like I said we are very happy with the quality of this tv and the price we paid for it I would reccomend it

This TV looks great even though I m not subscribed to
HD service I get one channel off the air in HD and
it s incredible 1080P is the bomb

Set up is a little fiddly and LG provides the
absolute worst user manual ever It
tells you nearly nothing about what various
controls do and how to set them This is
the only real CON I have with this TV

The only real competition to my LG was a
Samsung that I was watching It s price went
through the roof and it was smaller than the LG
The LG s technical specs are impressive If you
believe in looking that what the numbers say this
is the TV for you although this model is no longer
available

Unpacking the TV was nearly painless Mounting the
swivel stand was easy but if you re a small person
you ll want help getting the TV from the floor to wherever
you re going to put it I was just able to wrestle it
up to my 4 ft high location I m a average sized guy
so judge for yourself Just don t drop it

If you re buying a new TV do some research
watch prices and know what you re buying before
you buy it

This TV is a great choice I play video games and watch a lot of Blu Ray movies This TV has crisp color and the backlight function is very nice Almost everything on this TV is custom the picture quality sound inputs channel options This TV was created for every user due to its ease of use When I bought this TV I got it for 650 and even after Black Friday I still can t find another TV as good as this and for the price The 240hz option is ok but isn t need 120hz however is needed for fluid motion Overall I am very pleased with this television it feels as if this TV is a smart TV because it is customizable
>> TruMotion 240hz is not worth the money
I purchased this television for a low price during a deal The Pilot shipping was bad late didn t call when I called them I had to give them directions When the television arrived there was a scratch on the plastic frame around the screen That s not a big deal to me
Setting up the television was easy However the 240hz TruMotion is a flawed feature It does make motion smoother and may be useful when there is small fast motion but it causes great disruption on the screen when there is a lot of motion For example in the show The Office whenever the camera pans from one character to another large pixels appear on the screen This happens to both cable and Blu Ray Turning off TruMotion is the only way to stop this from happening Therefore I would recommend saving your money and getting a LG 120hz set
Besides the TruMotion the picture is good but there are problems with black levels I think the sound is good and the remote is easy to use
Overall if I had paid full price I d return the unit since it is basically a 120hz television advertised as 240hz there are several articles online about how LG s TruMotion 240hz is not really 240hz it just creates a 240hz effect A Sony on the other hand that is advertised as 240hz is truly 240hz But since I got it for a low price I ll keep it

I bought this on black friday for an amazing price I was in the market for an HDTV for a few months and was looking for something below 700 at least 120hz 1080p and had a good panel When I saw this beauty up I nabbed it as soon as I could pull out my credit card This set packs one nice S IPS panel It has a huge color range and can get extremely bright to the point of looking almost real in outdoor scenes
On to the review
As much as I can say that I love this TV mostly due to the price it s not quite perfect For one thing the black levels aren t exactly the best I ve seen on an LCD It s most apparent when watching a movie with black bars added to keep aspect ratio and in dark movie/video game scenes

I use this as a PC monitor so I can t say anything about how this does on broadcast television I figure with all the bells whistles features this thing has it could make a standard def signal look pretty damn decent over 37

I don t use the speakers as I have a system so I can t comment on the audio I m sure its on par with however HDTV speakers sound

I have this hooked up via HDMI to my PC When first turning it on out of box the picture quality was very poor as were all the presets for this I couldn t get it to look good until I turned all the advanced features down to low/off this includes gamma black level dynamic contrast and edge enhancer although it does look better to me with color gamut on wide I then turned contrast brightness sharpness backlight and all that down to 50 When I did this it looked AWESOME I turn the backlight up and down depending on ambient light and if I want it to look brighter for something videogames/movies I haven t seen any ghosting as far as I can tell and I got pretty good eyes

Now about the big one the 240hz TruMotion feature It looks great for video games and sports It s far from perfect though and especially so with this HDTV LG really messed up on this one in my opinion My main complaint with this TV is with the feature I wanted it for most and why I m only giving it four stars its hard for me to not give it 5 just for the panel alone When engaging the 240hz feature they DO NOT give you the option to turn off the dejudder effect This would be the perfect TV if you were just able to have the panel running at 240hz without having de judder on Dejudder technology interpolates extra frames in between the real frames to make the image more smooth Now this is great that they re trying something like this but it isn t perfect yet so it degrades the image source When on high it produces a lot of frequent visual artifacts on moving and not moving objects ranging from black pixels on objects to two objects on the screen that aren t there I like to play FPS games and anyone who does reading this knows that it s really bad to see something that s not there When on low it happens less frequently but I can still see frequent artifacts even on the text as I m typing right now When off it never happens Unfortunately when turning the 240hz TruMotion feature off it doesn t utilize the 240hz processing at all and runs like a 60hz panel The reason this happens is that there is NO DEJUDDER OFF FEATURE WITHOUT TURNING OFF THE 240HZ FEATURE Needless to say this made me pissed So now I have to live with artifacts every now and then until I get a new panel which will be a while hopefully I thought I got the perfect deal instead I have something that does almost everything I wanted I can t complain too much though I got a huge 240hz S IPS panel and 4 year warranty for 700 total Thanks Amazon Squaretrade

We have been looking for a bedroom TV had to be LCD and 1080P for the past couple months This was almost a no brainer especially with the discounts we received from the store from which we purchased HHGregg It was even cheaper than Amazon pricing which is a shocker This was our first LG purchase We have typically been Samsung love the 58 plasma and Sharp have a 32 720P for the boys gaming but the LG seems to be the most user friendly I love the quick guide option off the remote which takes you quickly to areas of interest in setting up sound video etc
Set up was simple and the screen looks awesome There are no Internet access points but as this is just a TV for the bedroom we were not pressed on that front I would recommend this TV for sure as a new model along with the most needed bells and whistles to make a typical buyer happy Enjoy

While this is my first HD TV I have been looking at them for a while I have had trouble justifying replacing a perfectly good 27 Sony However now that the networks are moving actual content into the bars that fall outside the range of what my SD Sony can display I finally got tired of missing 1/3 of the show and decided it was time to upgrade

I am a Netflix subscriber and I have been using PLEX to stream Netflix content onto my TV as well as to stream other video content stored on my Mac to my TV It works very well but it is a little kludgey since I still want to be able to use the Mac wile using it to serve Video content to Plex The TV acts as a second monitor

I was VERY concerned that I could find no reviews about this unit anywhere It s just that new I was especially concerned about how well the net connectivity worked So now that I have one I thought I would write a review

It s an LCD HD TV Picture quality looks fine to me but standing in the store they all kind of start to look alike I m not a video quality expert I would say that I could see a slight improvement on the LED TV s over LCD but I don t think it s drastic enough to warrant 500 1000 premium I was more interested in spending extra to get that Ethernet port on the back

So how does it work In a word Amazing

I hooked my HD cable box up and got that working then I plugged it into my home network It recognized that I had plugged it in and it DHCP ed an address off and connected without any problems I hit the Netcast button and got my choice of Yahoo Widgets There is also a Widgets button on the remote Netflix VuDu YouTube and Picasa I clicked Netflix prepared to have to painstakingly enter my Netflix login and password using the arrow keys on the remote and a virtual keyboard I was pleasantly surprised when it presented a URL for me to go to on my computer along with a code to enter I went there it was a Netflix URL on a computer that was already logged into Netflix I entered the code and BAM my instant watch queue showed up You can t browse movies here just your instant watch queue Put movies in the queue on your computer and they show up here Select a movie and after a few seconds it just starts playing You can skip forward and back and it shows the thumbnails very much like it does on the computer It works great

The Netflix video quality was good but VuDu was Spectacular They call it near BluRay and considering it is streaming real time over the Internet it looks really nice I have only watched a few short sample clips from New Moon but it was impressive You get a free rental to sign up and I m looking forward to trying it out

I haven t done Picasa or YouTube yet but I m guessing those are just as easy The TV came with a Windows only Nero MediaHome Essentials 4 Since I don t have a Windows box I can t load this I m assuming this is what LG expects you to use to access content directly from your PC I did a little Googling and downloaded a trial of Twonky Media A cross platform DLNA server Loaded it up set up my directories for my content hit menu on the remote and chose My Media and BAM again There were the files on my Mac I streamed a couple of shows for a few seconds Fast forward rewind it just works It s amazing I m not sure I m even going to bother hooking my Mac directly to my TV who am I kidding of course I will because I can but I doubt I ll actually use it much

Yahoo Widgets work as you would expect They pop up on the bottom of the screen kind of like the Dock in OS X or Windows 7 and you can scroll through them and select them to have them pop up a window You can have the window pop up over the picture or you can have the picture shrink down so you can still see it all I haven t really played with them that much There are several widgets to choose from but my computer is very close to my TV so I m not sure how much I will use them on the TV

Late last year I got a Droid wireless phone with Internet now I have a TV that while it doesn t have a Web Browser who wants to do that anyway it DOES have Internet connectivity I m pretty sure I want ALL of my future purchases to have Internet Connectivity Buying my new Dishwasher may be problematic

Purchased the LG 47LH90 from my Local Best Buy for 1499 on March 1st Television graduated off my short list after Consumer Reports raved about its bigger brother LG 55LH90 At the time I was torn between the Sony and Samsung comparable units

Screen Reflectivity Performance in bright rooms and Black contrasting were my three key drivers for picking this unit I have one of the brightest living rooms imaginable with a wall of windows over 12 high and two sky lights all positioned right next to this television set respectively Glare is minimal to nonexistent and the Local Dimming feature allows for deep and rich blacks Color set up right out of the box by using the 6 preset configurations Standard Natural THX Cinema Sport Game or Vivid make set up a breeze For all you techno geeks out there there are two Expert Modes where you can set up and save a couple of custom views for your future use

Remote control has direct access to all these presets through a mini pop up app that give you access to audio video aspect and setup functions I will give the LG remote control 5 stars

Standard Definition viewing is enhanced by my Dish TV features allowing me to Stretch and Zoom the picture across the 16 9 aspect ratio screen HD viewing ROCKS on this television Comparable to the best plasma screens on the market with colors that are rich vivid and bright

These particular televisions viewing angles are best in class Viewing Angles range from 45 degrees for optimal picture quality to 75 80 degrees with minimal video artifacts being produced

Two minor complaints driving my overall 4 star rating

A Factory Documentation The documentation provided by LG on this set is pretty weak in regards to software options and television functionality Internet research quickly answered some of my questions Television installation set up and pivot base construction instructions were sufficient

B Closed caption support Closed Captioning is NOT supported with HDMI DVI or Composite inputs and must be driven by the set top box Wish I knew this earlier but would NOT of changed my purchasing decision

Overall I am quite pleased with this purchase and would HIGHLY recommend it for you

On 50 of cable HDTV channels the picture freezes and the sound is not synchronized to the picture My other major brand plasma does not have this problem with the same connection Picture is brilliant but it doesn t matter if it s not working properly I do not recommend this TV

It was finally time to upgrade from my old 32 720p lcd and I for the first time began considering plasma I found an amazing deal on this set for 610 after tax and jumped at the opportunity So far I am very pleased

VIDEO
Picture quality absolutely destroys my old lcd The colors are vibrant while watching HD content and the black levels are so much more redeemable SD content looks noticeably more pixelated at close distances than the smaller set but that is to be expected

AUDIO
I haven t given the speakers much of a test as I use a 5 1 audio system but they sounded adequate for the first few minutes I heard them

APPEARANCE
Set will produce noticeable glare if in a well lit room but that is to be expected The bezels are sleek and very thin which I love the stand is easy to assemble swivels and works as expected The set is super thin

OVERALL
While I am still in the break in period I am thus far impressed by this set It was a huge affordable upgrade for me and I can t wait to give it a run with some games and blu rays
